FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - In this week's episode of Cool Science Monday, Martin Fisher from Science Central will talk about the science of air pressure by creating a vacuum.
Martin placed a lit match into a wine glass, and pressed the glass against his forehead. When the oxygen was used up, the match went out, the air in the glass cooled, and the air pressure in the glass decreased, which created a partial vacuum. Since the air pressure inside the glass was then less than the air pressure outside the glass, the air in the room surrounding the glass pushed against the glass and pressed it to his forehead.
