FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) -- In this week's episode of Cool Science Monday, Martin Fisher from Science Central will talk about how to make a hovercraft at home.
These are vehicles that use downward-facing fans to create a cushion of air. The layer of air decreases friction so the craft can move over a variety of surfaces, land or water. Hovercrafts use fans for lift (upward motion) and thrust (horizontal motion).
Martin showed a way to make a model hovercraft at home with a cd, plastic bottle, glue gun and a balloon.
