FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) -- In this week's episode of Cool Science Monday, Martin Fisher from Science Central will talk about reflection and refraction of light.

Reflection is when light strikes a shiny surface and bounces off in a new direction. Martin used a mirror to show reflection. He also shined the laser through a plexi tube. The light reflected off the INNER walls of the tube, and is called internal reflection.

Refraction is when light moves from one material (such as air), into another material (such as water), and the light bends/changes direction. Martin shined the laser through a plexi cube to show the light refracting and changing direction when it entered a new material.
