FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) -- In this week's episode of Cool Science Monday, Martin Fisher from Science Central will talk about Bernoulli's Principle.
It is named after a Swiss mathematician in the 1700’s Daniel Bernoulli. He researched air pressure. When air moves across a surface, it decreases the air pressure.
When Martin blew air across a piece of paper, it decreased the air on top of the paper, but the air pressure under the paper was greater, and pushed-up the paper. Next, I suspended a ping pong ball in an airstream from a hair dryer. The force of air pushed it up, the force of gravity pulled it down, the air moving across the sides of the ball decreased the pressure, so the higher air pressure in the room pushed in - and suspended the ball in a column of air.
