FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Depending where you are in the world the New Year has already arrived.

Even here in Fort Wayne Video Journalist Bob Johnston had his camera rolling at Science Central where 2010 started 12 hours early.

Science Central Executive Director Martin Fisher says, “Every year now at Science Central we do an annual count down to noon. We have a thousand balloons that get released at noon so of course that's a time when families and kids can come in and enjoy it and not have to worry about staying up until midnight."

3…2…1…Happy New Year

Parent Maggie Mulligan Knox said, "Coming down here with all the other kids and stomping on the balloons after they come down, its just exhilarating for them. I mean, who let's their kids do this many balloons at their house? So I think the kids really enjoy making a mess together."

With the sound of balloons popping in the background one child said, "This looks like a good place to clean."

Another pleased child Alisa Schrock said, "Balloons are falling from the sky, everyone's popping them, and I get to collect these balloon guts."

Happy New Years from Science Central.
