Liberty Tax Service is sponsoring a blood drive Saturday, March 23, 2013 to be held at 6564 E State Blvd near Georgetown in Fort Wayne. The American Red Cross will have their mobile unit and trained staff at the Liberty Tax Service office from 10am to 3pm. Liberty will be providing free food as well as ½ of tax preparation fees for all who present to donate. Call 260-493-8863 for more details.
“The winter is usually slow for blood donations, but the need is even more urgent this year because of all the storms on the East Coast. Over 170 blood drives had to be cancelled, leaving 7100 units that need replaced, so we set our goal to have at least 40 donors attend,” said Dori Miller, Operations Manager of Liberty Tax Service.
Generally, a donor can give blood every 56 days, according to the American Red Cross. The donation process usually takes about an hour.
