Minecraft Masters
July 20 – 6:30-7:30pm

Welcome all Minecraft survivors! Whether you are an expert builder or just getting started, come and explore the Minecraft world in the Computer Classroom, located by the Maker Lab. All play takes place on our closed library server. Space is limited.

Discover 3D Printing
July 21 – 2:00 pm
Discover the wonder of 3D printing in this hands-on class! Children ages 6 to 11 will learn the basics of designing a 3D object, and they will also learn how to use a 3D printer. Participants will need an e-mail address (can be a parent's). While we will not have enough time to print our designs during the class, participants will receive a free print certificate to use at a later date. Space in this class is limited so please register at the Children's Ask Here desk or by calling 421-1220.

Family Storytime

Little kids -- and bigger kids too -- are invited to read, sing, and play along at a storytime that is fun for all ages and stages.

Lego® Club

Get your brains, and hands, and imaginations working... by playing! Children's Services' Lego® Club is the place where kids' brains get to meet other kids' brains and give each other brain-high-fives!

Nature Art
July 23 – 10:30 am, 2:00 pm, 6:30 pm
Learn a little about the beauty of nature all around you then make an art creation from found nature objects. Preschoolers will need help from their grownups. Presented by Trees, Indiana.

Babies and Books

Explore books, rhymes, and songs in this special storytime just for babies and their favorite grown-ups.

Toddler Time

Active toddlers will learn as they play in this storytime full of rhymes, songs, books, and -- of course -- some jumping, too!

Barr Street Market Art

Visit the ACPL Children’s Services department at Barr Street Market on the corner of Wayne & Barr Streets to create an art project to take home. There will be a new project each Saturday starting May 16th through August 29th!

Sensory Friendly Film
July 25 – 10:00 am
Families can enjoy favorite films in a friendly, accepting environment. Our theater will have the lights up and the sound down. Audience members can feel comfortable moving, shouting, or singing along. This program is especially designed for families that have a child with Sensory Processing Disorder, but everyone is welcome!

July 28 – 10:30 am & 2:00 pm
Learn about this fascinating hobby, make your own stamp, and search for letterboxes hidden right here in the library! Pre-readers are welcome to attend, but will need help from their grown-ups.

Butterfly Storytime and Release
July 30 – 6:00 pm
Come to the Children's Services department at the Main Library during July to watch our magnificent Painted Lady caterpillars change into beautiful fluttering butterflies. On Thursday, July 30th at 6:00 pm, kids and their families are invited to join us for a special butterfly storytime. We'll follow the storytime by releasing our Painted Lady butterflies outside.

Stuffed Animal Sleepover
July 31 – 5:00 pm
Your stuffed animals are invited to a sleepover at the library! Dress in your PJs and bring your stuffed friends to the Main Library for a special bedtime storytime. After stories, you'll tuck in your stuffed friends and wish them "good night"; you'll go home and your stuffed friends will stay overnight. Come back on Saturday, August 1 to pick up your stuffed friends anytime during library hours. All stuffed participants will bring home a photo memory book of their overnight adventures.

Children’s Chess Tournament
August 1 – 9:00 am-3:30 pm
Children (preschool through those entering Grade 5) are invited to register to play in this all-day, unrated, "just for fun" Chess tournament. Pre-registration is requested of all players. For more information, call Children's Services at 260.421.1220.
