July 24th - July 30th
The Indiana University–Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) Honors Program invites high school students to participate in its first Honors Summer Camp, “Understanding the World Around Us: An Interdisciplinary Perspective.”

“This summer camp is ideal for students who are trying to decide which college will be a good fit for them, while earning Honors college credit," said Ann Livschiz, director of the Honors Program. "The interdisciplinary nature of the class will allow students to experience a multitude of great things that are happening on the IPFW campus.”

The camp is designed for academically talented and highly motivated high school juniors who are interested in learning more about IPFW and the programs it offers. During this one-week immersive interdisciplinary honors camp, students will have the opportunity to interact with other high-achieving students from across the state while working in small groups with some of the best IPFW faculty. Participants can earn one college credit while exploring a variety of academic disciplines and experiencing Fort Wayne attractions.

Activities may include:

•Biology field trip
•Geology field trip
•Art or Theatre
•Economics and Business
•International Cultures

•Fort Wayne TinCaps Baseball Game
•Visit to the Fort Wayne Museum of Art
•Karaoke Night
•Game Night
•Political Science
•Media and Communication

To apply, students must write a short essay (800 words or less) explaining why they are interested in the program and what they hope to gain from it, and should meet the Honors Program eligibility requirements. Students who do not meet the eligibility requirements but are interested in participating may require additional application materials; these students should contact the Honors Program directly before applying.

The priority application deadline is April 1. The final deadline to apply is April 29.
The cost to attend the Honors Camp is $200, which includes housing, tuition and meals. Fee waivers are available for those who qualify for free or reduced lunch programs.
