Indiana University–Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) plans to let students advertise themselves to employers through a "reverse career fair." Select IPFW students will set up booths for companies to visit at this month's event.
Students: stand on the other side of the table! Employers: see what IPFW students can offer! It's all happening at IPFW's Career Services Reverse Career Fair, Wednesday, March 19, in the Walb Union Ballroom from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Reverse Career Fair is for student leaders who are part of IPFW-affiliated groups and employers looking for students who stand out above the rest. Employers will find students are prepared and that they know what it takes to work hard and achieve goals.
This is a chance for students to showcase the professional and leadership skills they've gained to prospective employers and it's a great way to access new information for career goals and connect with employers. At this fair, student leaders will set up booths and employers will approach the tables.
Last year's inaugural Reverse Career Fair had a great turnout, with 27 registered student groups, 98 student leaders in attendance, and 67 registered employers.
The Reverse Career Fair is sponsored by IPFW Career Services, Quincy Recycle, Federated Insurance, Indiana–Purdue Student Government Association, and IPFW Student Life.
Employers can attend the Reverse Career Fair at no charge. There will be a free lunch for both registered students and employers. For more information or to R.S.V.P., contact Rachel Landis, IPFW Career Services, at 260-481-6139 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
