Debbie Gardner, of Survive Institute will assist South Adams Schools in complying with the dating violence education requirement. Her 90 minute interactive presentation is customized for grades 6 through 12. While in Indiana Survive Institute Offers a Self Defense Session to the Public on March 12th.
Heather’s Law requires the Indiana Department of Education, in collaboration with organizations that have expertise in dating violence, domestic violence and sexual abuse, to develop or identify model dating violence educational materials, and model dating violence response and reporting policies.

Debbie Gardner will assist South Adams Schools in complying with the dating violence education requirement. Her 90 minute interactive presentation is customized for grades 6 through 12. “Debbie Gardner, comes highly recommended, she has vast experience on dealing with children and violence,” praises South Adams School Counselor Sheila Graber. “Her no-nonsense approach to violence and courage are desperately needed for kids who are starving for simple truths for immediate safety.” Continues Graber.

Debbie’s seminar will immediately empower South Adams students, faculty and community members with life-saving concepts, updates and techniques such as:
• Look and speak with authority
• Recognize and outsmart crime set-ups
• Know when to “talk” … then “strike” LEGALLY
• React to ARMED attacker

Mike Gardner of Survive Institute explains why a new approach is important – “Students need a fresh alternative to their past self-defense experiences which likely emphasized complicated karate-type moves, boring crime statistics, high pressure mace sales, scary crime tales and unrealistic safety rhetoric (never walk alone, don’t talk to strangers, just be aware, just use your commonsense, etc.). Kids deserve better and Debbie provides that.
Survive Institute is partnering with the South Adams School District to offer a seminar to the public on Tuesday, March 12 at South Adams High School located at 1000 Parkway St, Berne, IN 46711. The seminar is 1.5 hours in length and begins at 7:00. Donations needed and appreciated to defray costs and will be taken at the door.
