Local community organization North Anthony Corridor Group (NACG) is hosting a Block Party along the North Anthony Corridor on Sunday, September 11th. "Every year we hope to add new elements to keep the event fresh and to highlight the diverse businesses and neighborhoods we serve" said Aja Michael-Keller, chair of the NACG Events Committee.
New events and activities that have been added this year including food trucks, roaming ice cream carts, Giant Beer Pong, a BMX show, an ice cream eating contest, a 2 Mile Run/Walk with IPFW, and live street performers and buskers. The NACG, along with local architectural firm Hoch Associates, will be displaying their Quality of Life Plan and design concepts for the Greater North Anthony Area.
Other food vendors from local corridor businesses will be on site along with a beer tent. Kid and family friendly activities include, bounce houses, face painting, balloon artist, caricatures, football toss, chalk art, printing press demos by Hedgehog Press, a River Walk/Tour by local historian Matt Jones, community dog rescue Adopt-A-Thon, yoga demos and tours, and a arts and craft fair. Wooden Nickel Music will host local bands Secret Mezzanine, Three Cities, and the B45s.
This free and family friendly event is open to all and runs from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm along North Anthony Boulevard between Crescent Avenue and St. Joe River Drive.
