The Plan was reviewed and approved by the Federal EPA, IDEM, OEPA on December 5, 2014. This document is considered a "snapshot" or a "benchmark," that is as accurate as science is to date. In about 5 years it will be considered outdated. We need to begin!
*This Implementation Conference is for all those who are interested in implementing any portion of the Plan. The Conference will focus primarily on critical urban issues and solutions, while never ignoring the primary land use in the Maumee, agriculture! We can spend time getting to know one another and collaborate, so we can truly work together and improve water quality from Fort Wayne, all the way to Lake Erie!
*The best management practices, within the plan, target a reduction in pollutants like sediment, dissolved reactive phosphorus and excess nutrients coming from a variety of urban and agricultural settings. Come and find your very own creative piece of the implementation strategy and help become part of what could be the most critical watershed movement of 2015.
* We are extending the invitation to you first, since there are only 70 seats available.
* The Implementation Conference, while specific to the Upper Maumee, may be a great time to gather knowledge and take fresh ideas back to your own groups, to improve and advocate for water quality in another watershed.
* This effort will give insight to the most critical issues and empower attendees with the knowledge and tools to make improvements in our own backyard. We value your input as stakeholders in our watershed and urge you to join us for this informative and motivating event.
If you are unable to attend the conference, please consider attending the River Summit that is tentatively scheduled for April 8, 9, 11 in 2015. The River Summit will be focusing more on the entire Tri-State area.
