Event Description

August 25, 2015 Updated Aug 25, 2015 at 7:48 AM EDT

The Fort Wayne Downtown Improvement District is pleased to announce the return of Busker Square at Taste of the Arts 2015 on Saturday, August 29.
A celebration of the arts through street performance (known as “busking”), Freimann Square transforms into Busker Square for a full day of fun activities. Join us from 11:00am – 7:00pm to see street drummers, dancers, musicians, caricature artists, magicians, jugglers, stilt walkers, and more.
Professional performers from T.A.G. Art will join us, as well as professional living statues “Country Boy Fountain” and “Marie Antoinette”. Interactive performers will include fortune tellers, balloon artists, and face painters. Finally, there will be a variety of buskers roaming the entire festival. We encourage patrons to show support of the artists by tipping their favorite buskers.

New This Year: Due to severe weather on June 27th, the Downtown Improvement District’s event BuskerFest was cancelled. However, we are pleased to announce that many of our BuskerFest stage performers, including Rusty Ammerman’s Dimension of Illusion, the Thurgood Marshall Leadership Academy Steppers, singer Haley Jonay, and many more, will join us at this year’s Taste of the Arts. Thanks to the help of Arts United, there will be a Downtown Improvement District Performance Stage this year located just east of the Auer Center for Arts and Culture on Main Street which promises a fantastic day of entertainment.
