FINANCIALHOPE COUNSELING AND EDUCATION will be offering two Bankruptcy Education workshops in February on Tuesday, February 12th from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M., and
Thursday, February 21st from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Both workshops will take place at FINANCIALHOPE located at 4105 West Jefferson Boulevard in Fort Wayne.
Topics from the course include: the keys to getting ahead, developing a budget to get what you want, financial tools to help you, understanding credit, the importance of knowing your credit score, and what to do when things go wrong.
All classes are two hours in length and attendees will need to supply the following:
-Their bankruptcy case number,
-Their attorney’s name,
-Photo ID, and either a $50 money order if filed single or a $75 money order if filed jointly. Payment may also be made with a debit card.
At the end of the class, attendees will receive the required USDOJ Certificate of Completion. They will need to vie their attorney or court the Certificate of Completion to have their debts discharged.

Please note the program cost, including certificate are $50.00 for individual or $75.00 for couples, may be made by money orders, cashier’s check, or debit card and must be made prior to taking the course.
FINANCIALHOPE COUNSELING AND EDUCATION is hosting “Chat with a Counselor” which will assist families with private 15 minute walk-in or telephone appointments on Monday, February 25th from 11:00 A.M. until 1:30 P.M. at their office located at 4105 West Jefferson Boulevard in Fort Wayne.
Counselors from FINANCIALHOPE will be on hand to answer any questions families have on budgeting, written spending plans, debt management programs, bankruptcy, foreclosure prevention or reverse mortgages.
“Our goal with these sessions is to be a resource for families in the community,” stated Joe Schenkel, President of FINANCIALHOPE. “Our counselors have cleared their schedules to answer any financial questions families have. We are available either by walk-in appointments to our office or by calling our office. We will provide information on the services we offer, as well as schedule follow up appointments for families who are interested,” Schenkel concluded.

Before debts can be discharged, the Bankruptcy Law (BAPCPA of 2005) requires that the family takes a course in personal financial management. FINANCIALHOPE offers an EOUST-approved class “Money in Motion”.
