To honor the appointment of George Kalamaras as Indiana Poet Laureate, we are hosting a reception, including light refreshments, music by Megan King, and a short reading by Kalamaras.

Kalamaras was born in Chicago and grew up in Cedar Lake, Indiana,. He is Professor of English at Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne. He's the author of several books of poetry, including The Mining Camps of the Mouth (New Michigan Press, 2012, Kingdom of Throat-Stuck Luck (Elixir Press, 2011), ), Your Own Ox-Head Mask as Proof (Ugly Duckling Presse, 2010), The Recumbent Galaxy (C&R Press, 2010), co-authored with Alvaro Cardona-Hine, and Something Beautiful Is Always Wearing the Trees (Stockport Flats, 2009), which includes paintings by Cardona-Hine.
