With exhibitors from throughout the Midwest, special guest artist Pat Gazie, and many doll themed workshops and activities – there will be plenty for guests to enjoy throughout this fun-filled weekend!
Through the years the Sauder Village Doll and Teddy Bear Show and Sale has maintained a reputation for its impressive scope of quality collectibles. For the 30th Annual Doll Show, more than 100 tables will be set in beautiful Founder’s Hall to showcase these treasured dolls and bears. At this always-popular show guests can shop and enjoy an excellent variety of high-quality items including antique dolls, original dolls, teddy bears, and modern collectibles. Also available will be accessories, supplies, artist reproductions, clothing, doll furniture, books and patterns. This is an exciting opportunity to view an unusually extensive assortment of quality merchandise and meet other doll collectors who share the same passion for quality, craftsmanship and uniqueness.
Pat Gazie is the special guest artist for the 30th annual doll event at Sauder Village. Pat started making dolls in 1982 and soon fell in love with the beautiful collectibles! Through the years Pat has taught doll making classes and owned her own doll shop, Reflections of Yesteryear, in Wyandotte, MI. For several years Pat taught five classes a week and had more than 75 students attend classes. She has won numerous awards for her doll making skills and has been featured in many doll magazines. Pat’s journey also includes making limited-edition dolls for many well-known companies including Walt Disney World, Marshall Fields, Mackinac Island and Shipshewana. An honor to Sauder Village was the Erie Sauder Series of dolls she made to replicate our founder’s family members.
For the past ten years Pat has focused on miniatures. She teaches for both Miniature World of Central Florida and Lakeland Miniature Guild’s Fun Days and her miniature designs have been featured in many magazines. Pat also teaches miniature classes and will be teaching “Mirror Mirror” – a one-day miniature workshop at Sauder Village.
Again this year, special workshops and lectures are being held during the doll event. Spaces are still available in Pat Gazie’s “Mirror Mirror” class – a one-day miniature workshop. There is also a reborning workshop, a “Dolly For Your Doll” class and a young collector’s event, “Reflections – Tell Me Your Story”. A Private Preview and Sale and evening dinner lecture are also on the schedule for this year’s special event. There is still availability in all workshops and lectures.
