On Saturday, March 19th, the Fort Wayne Medical Society Alliance will
host its annual Cinderella Dress Day for young women in the community. The event features a health fair supported by Parkview and Lutheran, with topics such as how to avoid the dangers of social media, nutrition, Don’t Text and Drive, and a presentation of health related education from Harrison College. Immediately following the health fair, attendees will be invited to select a FREE prom dress from more than 1,500 new and gently used formal gowns. The Alliance is also providing formalwear accessories like shoes, wraps, bags and jewelry for attendees to select from in order to complete their boutique experience, donated from local businesses.
For more than fifteen years, the Alliance has proudly partnered with Peerless Cleaners to collect gently used gowns from the community. Our decadeslong campaign has resulted in more than 3,000 dresses being distributed to the community, with a value of $300,000. Many of the gowns collected this year are BRAND NEW, and feature the hottest trends like cutouts, beading, ombre, in sizes from 028. This year is projected to be the biggest yet, with more than 500 attendees from Fort Wayne and the surrounding areas.
Attendees must only be a female high school student, no identification will be required. The event operates on a firstcome, firstserve basis, and doors will open at 12pm at this year’s new location, Ceruti’s North.
