National Latino AIDS Awareness Day is held each year on the 15th of October. Currently Latinos make up 25% of the new HIV infections in the United States and only about half of these are retained in care. Also, 7 in 10 new HIV diagnoses among Latinos occur in men who have sex with men.
The Positive Resource Connection, 525 Oxford Street, offers free walk-in HIV testing each Friday from 2 to 4:30PM and testing Monday through Friday at other times by appointment (call 260-744-1144).
We also provide free HIV testing at Su Salud Clinic at 2040 S Calhoun Street the second Monday of each month from 2 to 4PM.
