The Three Rivers Festival is hosting a FREE Raft & Parade Float building workshop on May 17th, from 10:00am - 1:00pm.
Come out and learn how to build an award-winning Parade Float OR an awesome cash-winning Raft Race entry!
Basic Raft Materials List
Here's what it takes to build an 8'x8' Raft as pictured below:
2 sheets plywood - 4' x 8' x 5/8" chipboard
8 - 2" x 4" x 8' studs
1 - box 1 5/8" deck screws (approx. 150)
1 - box 3" deck screws (approx. 50)
2 - rolls of galvanized pipe strap (approx. 40')
1 - box of 3/16" flat washers (approx.100)
4 - 55 gallon barrels
This is a suggested materials list for a basic raft; your design may need more materials.
No need to bring anything to the workshop -- we'll have materials on hand to construct a sample raft for demonstration purposes.
