On February 26, 2014, America and the world will commemorate the 2nd anniversary of Trayvon Martin’s death, a 17-year old African-American male who whose life was violently taken from him after being profiled, pursued, attacked, shot and killed as he walked home from a convenience store. In his commitment to transform tragedy into change, Mr. Tracy Martin, the father of Trayvon Martin, will speak about the legacy of his son and need for societal change in the way children, particularly young men of color, are regarded and treated in American society. Mr. Tracy Martin’s address is part of the book launch of Burden of Hope: Transition, Retention, and Collegiate Black Men.
