Please join us Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at 5:00 PM for our annual VIP Night dinner and program. We will celebrate young cancer survivors enjoying a week away from home and hospital and thank volunteers and donors who have made camp possible.
At Camp Watcha-Wanna-Do, children whose lives have been interrupted by medical treatments have a chance to “just be kids”. Camp offers challenges, freedom and fun to a group of incredible youngsters surviving cancer or brain tumors. Campers participate in traditional activities including swimming, boating, crafts, archery and horseback riding and special events including tethered hot-air balloon rides and mud hikes.
Camp Watcha-Wanna-Do began in 1992 as a one-week resident camp for 38 children surviving cancer. This June, we will host 120 children during the week of June 16 – 21. The program is medically supervised twenty-four hours a day by volunteer pediatric oncology staff from Lutheran Children’s Hospital.
Camp is free to families, thanks to the support of local businesses, foundations and private contributors. Camp Watcha-Wanna-Do, Ltd. is a local 501 © 3 organization serving children surviving cancer and brain tumors in Northern Indiana.
