The 1st ever Big Brothers Big Sisters Race for Kids’ Sake 5K run & walk hosted by Big Brothers Big Sisters Student Organization of IPFW proudly presented by 97.3 WMEE will take place on the beautiful campus of IPFW starting at the @ Hilliard Gates Athletic Complex, 2101 E Coliseum Blvd in Fort Wayne at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 20th, 2012.
The proceeds from the Race for Kids’ Sake will benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters; helping children reach their potential through professionally supported, one-to-one mentoring relationships with measurable impact. You can register for the race using the registration form found at Big Brothers Big Sisters, 2439 Fairfield Ave or at various distribution points throughout Fort Wayne or register online at www.bbbsnei.org/raceforkidssake . Pre-registration continues until October 12th. The cost is $20 for adults and $10 for participants 17-and-under. Race day registration, which increases to $25 for adults and $15 for participants 17-and-under, is also available beginning at 8:00 a.m. Children 12-and-under may participate for free with registration and a parent or guardian present. However a participation shirt, bag and race number will not be provided with this option.
The 5K run and non-competitive walk is chip-timed and awards will be handed out overall and in several age bracket categories. Race day registration and packet pick-up begins at 8:00 a.m. at IPFW in the @ Hilliard Gates Athletic Complex. Pre-Race packet pick-up will take place on Thursday, October 18th, 2012, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Big Brothers Big Sisters agency offices, 2439 Fairfield Ave in Fort Wayne.

Over 500 people are expected to participate in the premier Big Brothers Big Sisters Race for Kids’ Sake 5K run & walk hosted by Big Brothers Big Sisters Student Organization of IPFW proudly presented by 97.3 WMEE.
