Event Description

May 25, 2016 Updated May 25, 2016 at 10:46 AM EDT

Become immersed in the study of French language and French-speaking cultures for five consecutive days, seven hours per day. The course will be taught entirely in French, and students will commit to communicate exclusively in French.

The program is open to students with a wide range of abilities to comprehend and communicate in French. You will spend significant time with others at a similar level and will gain skills in all five language areas: speaking, writing, reading, listening and cultural understanding. The primary focus will be on listening and speaking proficiency through interaction with other participants, instructors and native speakers.

This immersion program balances rigorous, focused, project-based language learning with engaging and enjoyable activities. Upon successful completion of this course, you will demonstrate:

⋄ Increased confidence in conversing with native speakers and others on a variety of contemporary issues, including political, artistic and cultural themes.
⋄ Improved competency in grammatical structures that underlie effective spoken and written communication.
⋄ Increased understanding and appreciation of the diversity of peoples, cultures and ethnicities that comprise la Francophonie, the global French-speaking community.
