Drum Circle Presented by Sweetwater
Join us the first Tuesday of every month for our drum circle! When people come together as a group to create rhythm, something intrinsic and inclusive happens. The participants in a drum circle begin to listen to each other's playing. One drummer starts to play then more and more drummers are able to join in and naturally play with the momentum of the rhythm. All skill levels are welcome. We hope to see you there!
Bass Master Class with David Ellefson and Frank Bello from Megadeth and Anthrax
Spend 90 minutes with multi-platinum selling metal artists David Ellefson and Frank Bello, from Megadeth and Anthrax, respectively. David and Frank are coming to Sweetwater to spend some up-close time with those who want to get under the hood with what it takes to be in a hard rock heavy metal band. They will answer your questions, work with you on your technique, and share with you their individual playing styles. This is your chance to get up close and talk music with two of music's heavy metal giants. Bring your bass and go home a better bassist with a greater understanding of your instrument. Capitol Quartet Performance and Master Class
The Capitol Quartet, a group of highly-accomplished saxophonists who have received critical acclaim for their rousing performances and technical proficiency, are coming to Sweetwater to present Saxsational, an informative and fun Master Class about performing in an ensemble. During their Master Class, you'll learn to improve your listening skills and balance and blend your sound with others as you enjoy a discussion and demonstration of the many particulars of the saxophone.
Sweetwater Soundworks: Arts & Entrepreneurship
Alicia Pyle is a Fort Wayne native that teaches, coaches, and educates students of all ages & skill levels in multiple genres of music. Join Alicia as she covers topics related to being a working musician, performer, arranger, recording artist, and teacher in your community. Attendees will come away with an understanding of things they can do to further their presence in the local music scene.

Open Acoustic Jam
You're invited to join us every 2nd and 4th Tuesday for a family-friendly Open Acoustic Jam. Held at Sweetwater from 5-8, these jams are open to players of all skill levels, and guitarists of all ages are encouraged to attend. It's sure to be a great time, so grab your favorite acoustic axe and join us for our Open Acoustic Jam. We encourage you to hang out, exchange ideas, share songs, and have fun. Sweetwater Soundworks: Hybrid Picking with Don Carr
Don Carr (The Oak Ridge Boys) will be teaching a class on Hybrid Picking, a technique that utilizes a combination of pick and fingers with the right hand. From Johnny Hiland, Danny Gatton, and James Burton to Eric Johnson, Tommy Emmanuel and John 5, hybrid picking is more than chickin pickin'. A new world of licks and sounds are available to with this picking-hand technique. Come learn how to expand your playing with this incredible technique taught to you by a renowned guitarist.
The Art of Vocal Editing
Vocals are the heart of a song, but getting that polished professional vocal sound takes practice and know-how. In this incredible 4-hour class, you'll learn the tips and tricks necessary to shape your vocal tracks into perfection. Taught by renowned studio engineer and producer Mark Hornsby, this workshop is certain to give you the tools you need to produce exceptional vocal tracks.

Shawn Drover Clinic
Drummer Shawn Drover is coming to perform a blend of original and Megadeth songs. During this clinic, Shawn will be interviewed by Mitch Gallagher, and after the clinic there will be a meet and greet session and giveaways. Come out and hear an incredible drummer performing live in our Performance Theatre!
Chris Broderick Master Class & Clinic
Chris Broderick, the incendiary lead guitarist of the legendary metal band Megadeth, is coming to Sweetwater to teach a guitar Master Class! Renowned for his ability to effortlessly rip through complex metal techniques, Chris will be showing you how to master some of his technically demanding two-handed tapping riffs. On top of that, you'll have the rare and unique opportunity to watch Chris dissect a pair of Megadeth's most celebrated guitar solos, while he helps you become a more proficient guitarist.
During this performance, Megadeth guitarist Chris Broderick will be showing off his chops while discussing how he uses Toontrack software to make music. In particular, Chris will be talking about Toontrack's "killer drum samples and MIDI beats" into his creative process.
NS Design Clinic
This performance-based event centers around the innovative instruments built by NS Designs. Violinist Charles Yang and bassist Michael Thurber are joined onstage by local musicians violinist Derek Reeves and cellist Ed Stevens (both from the Fort Wayne Philharmonic) for an evening of lively music that includes an interview with Ned Steinberger.
