I am pleased to invite you to the Anthony Wayne Area Boy Scout Council’s “Leaders of Character” Breakfast scheduled for Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at Sweetwater Sound (5501 US Highway 30 West, Fort Wayne).
Please join us as the Boy Scouts recognize a great leader of our local community, Mark Millett, Co-Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of Steel Dynamics. Our program will begin promptly at 7:30 am and conclude by 8:45 am.
While he is easily recognized as a leader in both the worldwide steel industry as well as our local community, it is not as well known that his leadership training began through a Sea Scouting program in his native England. He continues to use the skills and values taught in Scouting in his life today.
I truly believe in Scouting and the positive impact that it has on our youth. I know that we will need leaders in our future with the strong values and character taught by Scouting. Since 1910, Scouting has shaped the lives of America’s youth – helping them to develop values, strength of character, citizenship, and leadership that caries them through the rest of their lives. As you will discover during the breakfast, our local Anthony Wayne Area Council is doing a remarkable job of impacting the lives of young people here in Northeast Indiana.
During the program, you will be given an opportunity to make a personal pledge of financial support to the Boy Scout program for 2015, however you are under no obligation to give and there is no cost to attend the breakfast. If you wish to reserve a table and receive special recognition at the breakfast, levels of corporate support can be found on the enclosed registration form.
Together, through Scouting, we can impact the lives of our children today, and help to build them into the leaders that our communities will need tomorrow. Leaders of Character!
Thank you in advance for your interest in and support of the more than 5,300 local young people that are learning important life skills in hundreds of Northeast Indiana Scouting programs. I look forward to seeing you at Sweetwater Sound on March 3rd. In order to reserve your seat, please complete and return the enclosed registration form by February 20, 2015.
If you have any questions regarding our upcoming breakfast, please contact either myself or the Council Development Director Chuck Walker at (260) 432-9593 (ext. 245) or email him at Chuck.Walker@Scouting.org.
