HOPE for Animals will be providing educational sessions on outdoor cat shelter building, how TNR (Trap, Neuter, Release) works, and how our local coalition teams together with the public to take care of community cats.
Since the Community Cat initiative began in the summer of 2014, H.O.P.E. for Animals along with Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control and the Allen County SPCA have been able to spay/neuter, vaccinate, ear-tip, and microchip over 3,000 community cats. With public knowledge and assistance, Fort Wayne is quickly gaining a better control over the feral cat population. Come join us and see how you can help as well.
The Feline Fall Festival is a way for the public to learn more about what the term “community cat” really means, and how the public can help reduce the number of stray cats in our community. This is a family friendly event with no entrance fee. The outdoor cat shelter building workshop will run from 11 am – 1 pm, the Trap-Neuter-Return workshop will run from 1 pm – 2 pm. There will be games for the kids and corn hole. Face-painting, balloons, and tours of the clinic will be available for a donation. Food will be available for purchase. Any money raised will go directly towards the Community Cat Program here at H.O.P.E. for Animals.
