September 8 is opening day of the Huntington Arts Initiative's annual hydrant painting public art exhibit. Artists have painted more than 20 fire hydrants in the downtown Huntington area to depict famous movies.
From 2 to 4 pm on opening day, Arts Initiative founders will be passing out maps showing the locations of all the hydrants and handing out free popcorn at 528 N Jefferson St. In addition, Brock's Cakery will be selling star-studded cupcakes, and Antiqology will have red carpet ice cream floats and other ice cream treats and vintage soda available for purchase.
