The Summit City Sluggers Travel Baseball Organization will host a Strike-Out Breast Cancer event on June 9, 2013 to raise funds for breast cancer research. During this event, large crowds will be entertained by many baseball games throughout the day. In addition, there will be a radio DJ broadcasting from the scene and several raffle promotional activities. We will also be recognizing breast cancer survivors prior to the start of the last game. Rather than charging a gate fee, we ask that guests provide a donation with proceeds devoted to this great cause. “We’re delighted to partner with Summit City Sluggers Baseball to raise funds for breast cancer research,” says Catherine Hill, executive director of the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer. “Our family of committed partners is growing and we love their help in spreading the word about the important work of the Vera Bradley Foundation.”
The Summit City Sluggers mission has always been to improve lives through baseball. Many of our past and present players and coaches have been impacted in one way or another by breast cancer. We are honored to choose the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer as the beneficiary of our “Strike-Out Breast Cancer” event in the effort to raise money to find a cure. If you would like to take part in this day, please contact Mark DeLaGarza, 260-402-0789, Steve Devine, 703-405-7742, or Beth West at 260-578-0639 for more information.
