The conference will focus on Domestic Violence in Our Community. Domestic Violence effects many aspect of a community and through our key note Speaker and other workshops we will discuss those areas and how we, as a community, can work together to reduce the incidences of domestic violence.
Key note speaker, John Beams, is a licensed social worker and holds a law degree from IU. He is the owner of Center for Non-Violence is Fort Wayne, IN one of the only certified batterers intervention centers in NE Indiana. In addition to John, the afternoon will be filled with your choice of workshops to attend depending upon your profession or interests. Experts in these fields will discuss the topics of sexual assault, meth/drug use, human trafficking, arresting and prosecuting batterers, why victims protect their batterers, the effects of domestic violence on the children in a home.
Lunch will be provided and Certificates of Attendance for continuing education credit that you may submit to your employer or licensing agency.
