The annual Monroeville Chamber of Commerce 2015 Harvest Festival will take place Thursday through Saturday, Aug. 6-8, at the Monroeville Community Park.

Thursday and Friday activities run from 5 to 11 p.m., while Saturday’s events begin at 11 a.m. with the annual parade through downtown Monroeville and last until at 11 p.m.

This year’s festival will feature midway rides by Beer’s & Jessop’s Co, a food court staffed by various community organizations, merchants tent, bingo by the Monroeville Conservation Club, beautiful baby contest, upcycle sculpture contest by Cornerstone Youth Center, gospel music night Friday, demolition derby Friday and Saturday nights at the park arena and the crowning of Miss Harvest Festival 2015 late Saturday night.

Other Thursday activities include a golf challenge by East Liberty United Methodist Church, Mudokwan martial arts demonstration, lawn mower drags and a performance by the J Taylors. Friday will feature a fish fry by the Heritage Band Boosters, golf challenge and cornhole tournament sponsored by Dr. Kenton Bailey, Wings Etc. and Wrigley Field Bar & Grill to go along with the gospel music and demolition derby. Saturday’s events will include a BBQ chicken dinner by the Monroeville Volunteer Fire Department, golf challenge, performance by magician and illusionist Jim Barron, cardboard cup boat race by RT Sales, Dance LTD presentation, trivia contest sponsored by the Chicken Coop, horseshoe tournament, dachshund dash and performances by Dan the Pan Man (steel drum music) and “The In Laws” Band. All music performances will take place on the Dewey stage.

The park is located at 421 Monroe Street in Monroeville. There will be a free parking entrance at 13075 State Road 101 adjacent to the park.
