The Fort Wayne Summer Music Theatre (FWSMT) will once again present their summer musical on the Williams Theatre stage from July 10 - 19. Rent is an official Three Rivers Festival event and the IPFW Department of Theatre is a co-sponsor of this production.

Rent is a rock musical loosely based on Giacomo Puccini's opera La bohème. It tells the story of a group of impoverished young artists struggling to survive and create a life in New York City's East Village. under the shadow of HIV/AIDS. Rated PG-13 and contains mature content.

FWSMT offers a summer program for students who have a high interest in theatre. They work to provide a more challenging experience for students as actors, singers, dancers, musicians, and technicians than they would find in their own school programs.
