Worms at Work
February 28, 11am - 1pm
Approximately 70% of the garbage and trash that ends up in landfills could be recycled. Learn how to minimize waste, save landfill space, reduce the risk of pollution, and – best of all – make your own nutrient-rich soil that can be used in your yard or garden. This process, called vermicomposting, involves earthworms transforming organic waste into fertilizer. So, next time you throw a banana peel in the trash, think about giving worms first dibs instead! FGC is especially great for young learners.
Free with regular Conservatory admission: $5/adult, $3/child age 3-17; children age 2 and under free. For more info call (260) 427-6440.
