Event Description

October 30, 2013 Updated Dec 6, 2013 at 11:57 AM EDT

The University of Saint Francis invites the community to celebrate the holidays with a variety of activities during its traditional Christmas at USF.

Christmas in the Castle
December 7-8 & December 14-15, 12-5pm
Visit the exquisitely decorated historic Brookside, former home of Fort Wayne industrialist John H. Bass. Local florists and decorators bring the holidays to life in this turn-of-the 20th century mansion on the University of Saint Francis campus. Admission is $5 per person and $20 for a family of as many as six members. Tickets must be purchased the days of the event in the North Campus lobby directly across Spring Street from the mansion. Parking is free at the North Campus. The mansion is handicapped-accessible.

Fair Trade Alternative Shopping Bazaar
Sunday, Dec. 8 from 12-5:30 p.m.
Fair Trade merchants from the area will offer high-quality fairly traded handicrafts from disadvantage producers around the world. Fairly traded products provide the producer with a fair price, access to credit and training, and long-term relationships with principled organizations.

Living Nativity and Lighting of the Lake
Sunday, Dec. 8, 6-6:30 p.m.
In 1223, Saint Francis of Assisi gathered villagers in the town of Greccio, Italy to recreate the nativity of Jesus on that first Christmas. Since then, the crèche has been a Franciscan tradition. Relive the nativity on the shore of Mirror Lake at the University of Saint Francis complete with live animals. This event is free. Park in the lot off Leesburg.

Senior Day in the Castle
Wednesday, December 11 from 12-5pm
Brookside Mansion at the University of Saint Francis
Tour the beautiful Brookside mansion all dressed up for Christmas!
Purchase tickets in the North Campus building across Spring Street from the mansion on the day of the event! Admission is $3 per person.
