My Brother’s Keepers/My Sister’s Keepers to Announce Recipient Winners at Scholarship Ball with Dr. Wendy Robinson as Guest Speaker.
To celebrate and support academic excellence, My Brother’s Keepers/My Sister’s Keepers Organization is pleased to host its First Annual Lighthouse Scholarship Ball on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. held at the The Summit, 1025 W. Rudisill Boulevard with Dr. Wendy Robinson, Superintendent of the Fort Wayne Community Schools, as the guest speaker.
The Ball will feature seven prominent High School Seniors who have academically excelled in the program and have pioneered the way for those youth to follow. Each year scholarships will be presented to youth to pursue a college education. The entire organization is strategically generating funds to allow this mission to continue for those who wish to move forward with their education.
Gor’Don Martin, co-founder of MBK/MSK, states, “I am extremely proud of the immediate success of this program. In our community, we currently have youth who have the determination to succeed in life with a Bachelor’s, Master’s, and even Doctorate degree. Their current academic outcomes demonstrate they are on the right path to achieve that goal. It is now up to the adult community to support their aspirations, by providing the avenue for it to be accomplished. The Ball is the first of many, because we have over 100 youths who are now committed to a college career. We refuse to allow ‘no funding’ to be the reason of ‘no higher education’.”
