ACRES ANNUAL DINNER
Saturday, November 14
....................................................................................................

The History of Cedar Creek
Presented in partnership with Allen County Parks

The focus of this year’s annual meeting and dinner is Cedar Creek, one of only three Indiana rivers to be designated as a “natural, scenic or recreational river” by the Natural Resources Commission.

Dr. Tony Fleming will explain how Cedar Creek was formed as a tunnel valley system beneath the late Wisconsin glacier thousands of years ago, and how that affects the geology, hydrology, and ecology of the modern Cedar Creek valley.

Angela Quinn, local historian and ACRES board member, will share how Cedar Creek was named, as well as stories about some of the people who once lived along its banks.
This year’s event includes optional pre-dinner activities from 3 - 4 pm.

3 – 3:30 p.m. | Optional hike to Cedar Creek
3 – 4 p.m. | Cedar Creek history displays around the fireplace

5:30 p.m. | Dinner, $25/person
