IPFW band alumni will return to campus to perform in a wonderful joint performance with the University Bands, commemorating the past 50 years of music at IPFW. The concert will feature works by John Mackey, Eric Whitacre, and Dmitri Shostakovich, as well as Pulitzer Prize-winning composer John Corigliano’s Chaconne from The Red Violin, featuring the incredibly talented Mr. Derek Reeves from the Fort Wayne Philharmonic on viola. The Concordia Lutheran High School Band will be guests of the Department of Music and share the stage on this fantastic evening!

The IPFW Bands will feature a world premiere for wind ensemble by their very own Dr. Christopher Rutkowski. Special guest artist Dr. Farrell Vernon will perform Pulitzer Prize-winning composer William Bolcom’s Concert Suite (for Alto Saxophone). The beautiful Elsa’s Procession to the Cathedral from Wagner’s opera Lohengrin will spotlight guest conductor Dr. Dennis Llinás, associate director of bands at Louisiana State University. Wild Nights! by Frank Ticheli will round out the evening.

$7 Adults, $6 Seniors (60 and Older), $4 Non-IPFW Students
