The American Heart Association will host the 2013 Heart Ball on April 19 at the Fort Wayne Country Club. More than 350 people are expected to attend the Heart Ball, which is being held at the Fort Wayne Country Club. The Fort Wayne Heart Ball, a major fund-raising event, hopes to raise $170,000 at this year’s event benefiting research, public education and community programs for children’s causes for the American Heart Association and its mission-related activities in Northeast Indiana. The American Heart Association is the second to only the federal government in research funding.
The gala evening will include networking opportunities, entertainment and silent and live auctions. The formal event will feature dinner, a live auction and Chuck Surack’s band, Prime Time.

The Fort Wayne Heart Ball is a major fundraising event benefiting research, public education and community programs of the American Heart Association and its mission-related activities in Allen County. In the previous five years the American Heart Association has funded 79 studies at six Indiana institutions with an investment of $9.8 million. Breakthroughs have been made, but many research questions remain.
Every 33 seconds, someone loses a husband, sister, grandparent or best friend to heart disease. The American Heart Association is doing all it can to stop our nation’s number one killer, because it doesn’t have to be like this.
