Beekeeping with Glen Hile, Saturday, October 3rd at 1:00 pm.
Glen has been a hobby beekeeper for 12 years, building from 2 to currently 35 hives scattered over the northern half of Allen County. A well-traveled Ph.D. in plant breeding and genetics, he is a retired commercial plant breeder with over 30 years in the field. Glen will cover general beekeeping, including: Why beekeeping? What’s in it for the hobbyist? Getting started, challenges, and much more. A $3.00 fee covers materials. Registration deadline: September 25th.
Festive Holiday Appetizers with a New Orleans Twist with Ed Graf, Monday, November 9th at 6:00 pm.
Ed Graf is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, and owner/operator of the Firehouse Café for 22 years and Catering by Mr. G’s for 31 years. His experience includes the Royal Sonesta Hotel (5 stars) on Bourbon Street in New Orleans. In preparation for the holidays, Ed will teach us how to make wonderful festive holiday appetizers using herbs from your gardens. A $7.50 fee for this class covers the cost of food. Registration deadline: Monday, November 2nd.
