George R. Mather Lecture Series
Join presenter J. Michael Keefer at the History Center Sunday, January 3 at 2:00pm for January’s George R. Mather Sunday Lecture "Poached Yeggs: The Story of the Robbery of Broadway State Bank, August 20, 1930."
Set against the backdrop of the organized crime of the 1920s and 1930s, Keefer provides a snapshot of life in Fort Wayne 85 years ago through a discussion of what the local newspapers characterized as Fort Wayne’s first bank robbery. Hear the details and events surrounding the robbery of Broadway State Bank, including the criminal investigation, the search for the bandits, and the ensuing trials.
