Event Description

Walk in the Woods
Take a walk in the woods with the Naturalist. This will be a relaxing hike aimed at observing seasonal changes within the forest at Lindenwood, from recent bird sightings to the impact of invasive species to the progression of wildflowers, anything forest-related is on the table. This hike is organic in nature and will be held on the 3rd Saturday of each month, May through October, from 10-11am.

Tree Hike
Come along to learn about the spectacular trees that can be found in Lindenwood Nature Preserve. A diverse variety of trees have taken root in the preserve, from impressively thick oaks to incredibly tall and straight tulip trees, from charismatic sassafras to remarkably shaggy hickories. This will be a great way to begin your Saturday. Free!
Note: A little rain can make Lindenwood pretty muddy! For your comfort, wear condition-appropriate gear.
9/5 10-11am

Mammal Hike
Discover the mammals that call Lindenwood home! Herbivores, predators and scavengers included. What do they eat? Where do they live? How will they spend the winter? This is a kid-friendly, free guided hike.
Note: When it rains Lindenwood can get pretty muddy! For your comfort, wear condition appropriate gear.
10/3 10-11am

Leaf Peeper Hike
Celebrate the color and majesty of Autumn at Lindenwood Nature Preserve! (And learn a little bit about the season, too!) Join the Naturalist on the 2nd-to-last guided hike of the season.
10/18 2-3pm

End of Season Celebration: Hike, Hot Dogs, & Raptors!
Join us for the final day of the season at Lindenwood Nature Preserve on October 31st. To celebrate such a wonderful season, our Naturalist will be leading the last guided hike of the year at 10:00am. After the hike, we will have hot dogs with all the fixings to roast over the fire. Then, at 2:00pm, Soarin' Hawk Raptor Rehab will be out to do a presentation!
10/31 10am-3pm
