The world urges people to admire and pursue whatever is faster, newer and bigger. But a life based on urgency, speed and productivity demands a high price.
For those who feel overwhelmed, who need an extra day in the week or another hour each day, Victory Noll Center will host “Finding Sanctuary in Your Life and Your World,” a weekend retreat September 26-28 with nationally-known speaker and author Terry Hershey, who will lead the group in a practical and humorous way.
The retreat will be a time to pause, a time to become more by doing less. It’s not about time management, it’s about letting souls catch up with bodies.
Terry Hershey is an inspirational speaker, humorist, author, dad, Protestant minister and landscape designer. He is addicted to golf. He lives on Vashon Island, near Seattle. He speaks throughout the US on relationships and spirituality and gardening. The Power of Pause (Loyola Press) is his 10th book. His work has been featured on The Hallmark Channel, CNN, PBS, and NPR. Terry holds a mirror up to our fast-forward, disconnected lives, and offers us the “power of pause” — the wisdom of doing less and living more – in order to regain emotional and spiritual balance; to find the sacred in every day.
The cost for the weekend is $195 for those staying two nights at Victory Noll Center. The cost is $95 for commuters. There s a $50 non-refundable deposit to reserve a space. All meals are included for Saturday, as well as breakfast and lunch on Sunday. Registration is required by September 19.
