Event Description

November 19, 2014 Updated Nov 19, 2014 at 8:54 AM EDT

On Sunday, November 30, Black Pine will open up the sanctuary for visitation with the animals from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. for an event called "Turkey Day". A large number of frozen turkeys have been donated for feed this fall, so keepers are inviting the public to come out and enjoy watching the many exotic cats, wolves, bears, and foxes receive Thanksgiving meals and treats, weather permitting. General visitation rates will apply, though wish list donations will be accepted in equal or greater value in lieu of paying cash admission rates. General visitation fees are $7.00 for ages 3-9 years and $8.00 for ages 10 years and up. Ages two and under are free.

Black Pine Animal Sanctuary has announced extended shopping hours during the Christmas season at the Wolf Den Gifts & Things, a gift shop located at the entrance to the sanctuary located 1.5 miles west of Albion on CR 300 North.

Wolf Den open for Christmas shopping! The Wolf Den features a variety of Black Pine logo apparel and souvenirs, and animal-themed gifts including household decor, collectibles, jewelry, toys, plush animals, and more. All proceeds of sales in the Wolf Den support Black Pine's non-profit mission to give displaced, captive-raised exotic animals refuge for the rest of their lives, and to educate people about responsible pet ownership.

The Wolf Den will be open for holiday shopping on Sundays from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. from November 23 through December 21. Visitors can enter the gift shop from the main visitor parking area. Admission is free! (Visitation with the animals is not included.)

Those interested in gift-giving to the animals living at Black Pine may also enjoy the opportunity to choose a gift tag off a special tree in the Wolf Den bearing tags describing various animal enrichment gifts to choose from. Donors may pull a gift tag off the tree and purchase the item listed. Black Pine will collect the payments for items, then place a single order to receive all the enrichment items selected by donors.
