A local project “You Go Girl” that honors, empowers and inspires local deserving women in our community is launching their first ever annual benefit dinner April 28, 2016 at The Summit from 6-10pm. A project that just 4 months ago started as a “hobby”, but now has followers and supporters pitching in to help it become even more. When asked about the dinner Mary Byrd says, “I am looking forward to celebrating our vision and celebrating the past winners. I’m hoping this will be the beginning of us impacting even more women.”
Local photographer and owner of Le Petite Studios, Casey Brothers and fashion blogger, Mary Byrd are the co-founders of the project. “We can’t believe how quickly this has taken off and the support of the community for this project. I think people want good news and good examples of people right here in our own city to look up to. Although we hadn’t planned on dedicating this much time to the project when we started it, we see that there is a need and a want for this and we’re happy to be involved in doing it”, said co-founder Casey Brothers.
The You Go Girl project chooses a winner from our community every month based on nominations submitted through their website www.yougogirlproject.com. The winner then has a “spa” day with a full makeover, shopping spree and photo shoot to finish it off. Every month the winner’s story and transformation is featured on their Facebook page, website and Wane TV the last Saturday of every month.
The You Go Girl project was founded January 2016 by Casey Brothers and Mary Byrd. Their main sponsor for the project is Women’s Health Advantage. A portion of the ticket sales will go to not only benefit their March winner’s program, “Street Reach For The Homeless”, but will also go to help establish their project as a non for profit.
