Mikautadze Dance Theatre, a professional modern dance company-in-residence at IPFW, offers a 2-week summer intensive with modern and ballet technique classes for the intermediate level dancer ages 13 and up! (Adults are welcome too).
Students may register for one, two, three or all four workshops. Each workshop meets for 1.5 hours, Monday-Thursday.
Intermediate level dancers should have at least 2 years of experience in ballet training for the ballet technique classes and at least 1-2 years of training in modern and/or jazz training for the modern technique classes. Classes will be taught by Mikautadze Dance Theatre's artistic director, Elizabeth Mikautadze. There will be opportunity for dancers ages 18 and up to audition for apprenticeship and company dancer positions for the 2015-2016 season.
Classes will focus on technique and emphasize performance quality needed to hone skills for potential professional careers in dance and for general improvement in dancing ability.
•Leotard and tights or unitard (any solid colors)
•Skirts above knee are permitted for ballet Ballet slippers for ballet classes
•Solid color T-shirt and tights or runner's leggings
