The Great Cloth Diaper Change is an annual international event that attempts to break the world record for most cloth diapers changed at the same time. Cloth diapers have come a long way in the past ten years, and The Great Cloth Diaper Change event serves to raise awareness of cloth diapering and create some added buzz and excitement too!
To do this, several people in the cloth diapering movement, including Snuggy Baby have joined forces with the nonprofit Real Diaper Association to participate in the fifth anniversary of the Great Cloth Diaper Change international event taking place on Saturday, April 18th, 2015.
This will be a family friendly event with lots of prizes various vendors from the community and an opportunity to meet like-minded parents while earning your place in the Guinness World Record book.
Admission is FREE, but each baby needs a ticket to participate in world record attempt. You can get your ticket here:
You will need one ticket for each baby that is being changed. More information about the event can be found on Facebook.
Why: Each year billions of disposable diapers enter landfills where it will take hundreds of years for them to decompose. The Great Cloth Diaper Change is an eye-opening experience for thousands of modern parents who choose to use a more planet-friendly alternative and those who want to know about their eco-friendly diapering options. It doesn’t hurt that cloth diapering also saves cash-strapped families a substantial amount of money too, especially during these tough economic times.
About The Great Cloth Diaper Change:
Celebrating it’s 5th Anniversary, The Great Cloth Diaper Change is an international initiative organized with the help of the nonprofit Real Diaper Association, designed to show the world that cloth diapers are a real option for today’s families. The brainchild of Judy Aagard, of Tiny Tots in California, Aagard says she came up with the idea in an effort to host a family event celebrating Earth Day.
The Great Cloth Diaper Change has morphed into an exciting Guinness World Record™ breaking event, and in 2014, GCDC participants from 18 countries, spread across 5 continents, successfully set the current Guinness World Record of 8,459 babies changed at one time. Our overall total of 9,770 participants joined together to raise cloth diaper awareness in their local communities and around the world.
