Victory Noll Center will present a number of programs and events in June designed to enrich the mind, body and spirit.
The programs range offer a wide range of experiences, from the five-day directed retreat “Walk With God,” to an evening connecting to the Earth and universe through the “Cosmic Walk at the Labyrinth.” There’s a chance to discuss current events with the next film in the “Movies & Popcorn” series, and kids and adults alike can take part in the annual “Butterfly Workshop: Metamorphosis in Your Own Backyard.”
Victory Noll Center is located at 1900 W. Park Drive in Huntington.
“Movies & Popcorn” series continues June 13
Victory Noll Center will host the continuing series "Movies & Popcorn," from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on Friday, June 13, promoting themes with undertones of faith and social justice.
The film on June 13 is “Waiting for Superman,” which provides a cogent examination of the crisis of public education in the United States told through multiple interlocking stories — from a handful of students and their families whose futures hang in the balance, to the educators and reformers trying to find real and lasting solutions within a complex system. Following the film there will be a time for discussion.
In response to Catholic Social Teachings, this series features evenings of inspiration and creative thought that will inspire a broader understanding of self, life, social justice and faith. The events will offer opportunities to join with community that will enhance dialogue and deepen bonds with humanity.
Suggested donation is $10. Registration is required one week prior to each event.
Walk With God directed retreat
Directed retreats offer extended time to slow down and tend the Holy. It is a time to refresh one’s spirit walking with God and responding to that relationship through solitude, silence, and prayer.
Victory Noll Center is offering "Walk With God” directed retreat running from 5 p.m. on Monday, June 16 to 2:30 p.m. on Friday, June 20.
The beautiful campus of Victory Noll offers sacred spaces outside to walk with God including the labyrinth, nature trails, and Stations of the Cross. Each day Retreatants are invited to spend several prayer periods of about one hour each and may also participate in group Centering Prayer. In addition, each retreatant meets daily with a retreat director in order to reflect more deeply on the experience of the day.
The retreat leader is Victory Noll Center director Sue Wilhelm, D.Min.
The retreat is $350 and includes single occupancy lodging with all meals.
Early registration is encouraged because of limited availability. Full payment is required seven days before the beginning of the retreat.
