This free lecture will examine the life and work of Fort Wayne's own Edith Hamilton, one of our city's most renowned women, whose career at Bryn Mawr and study of Greek classicism brought international acclaim for her scholarship. This lecture will examine Hamilton's life from an intimate perspective in advance of the speaker's forthcoming biography, and will reexamine Hamilton's 1957 trip to Athens in which she was made an honorary citizen of that city.
