Experience a powerful performance from world-acclaimed dance troupe and regular guest artists on FOX’s So You Think You Can Dance, featuring dancers with and without disabilities as AXIS Dance Company takes the stage, March 12, 2016 at the Arts United Center!

FWDC is pleased to welcome AXIS Dance Company (AXIS) from Oakland, CA. AXIS exists to change the face of dance and disability and has paved the way for a powerful contemporary dance form called “physically integrated dance.” AXIS has toured extensively throughout the U.S. and abroad sharing its cutting edge artistic and education/outreach work with thousands. AXIS Dance Company is a pioneer in changing the way people view disabilities.
On March 12, AXIS will perform “to go again,” a new dance theater work by choreographer Joe Goode which brings to light issues facing our nation’s veterans and addresses their resilience following severe life changes. AXIS will also perform “Divide” and “Dix minutes plus tard.” Following the performance, the audience will be invited to join AXIS for refreshments and a Q&A session.

One of the leading personas in contemporary percussion and rhythm, Kenny Endo is at the vanguard of the taiko genre, continuing to lead the way in this Japanese style of drumming as he marks his 40th year of performing and touring.
A performer, composer, and teacher of taiko with numerous awards and accolades, Kenny Endo is a consummate artist, blending Japanese taiko with rhythms influenced from around the world into original melodies and improvisation.
Tuesday, April 5, 2016 from 10:00am-12:00pm. Cost is $50.00.
