Indiana University-Purdue University at Fort Wayne and Glenbrook Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center will offer free weekly computer classes for eight weeks, starting May 16.
Geared toward seniors, the course will be taught by an IPFW instructor and will be held on consecutive Thursdays at Glenbrook Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center, 3811 Parnell Ave. Because of the increasing demand, two introductory classes will be held each Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. The intermediate class is from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., and the moderate class is from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., also on Thursdays.
The course will cover essentials for using the computer, Internet fundamentals, navigating popular sites such as eBay and Amazon, email, social media and more.
Each participant will receive handouts and reference material. They should bring their own laptops, although Glenbrook Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center will have some computers available.
