Always delving into exciting new work, the Percussion Ensemble will perform three IPFW premieres. Just a few of the sounds in Adam Silverman's Naked and on Fire include triangles, maracas, the Egyptian riq, and tuned gongs. Gravity by Marc Mellits features five mallet instruments while Damn by John Mackey, is a piece for amplified clarinet player and percussion quartet. Along with these premieres the Percussion Ensemble will perform Fanfare for Tambourines, a work for six tambourine players, and Chromatic Fox-Trot, a xylophone solo from the ragtime era supported by a marimba ensemble.
